We are delighted to award a £20,000 grant to Reading Force towards its core operating costs for next year.
Our charity promotes the welfare of Army families as a priority. Reading Force is the only organisation helping British Armed Forces families through shared reading. It provides a variety of resources and activities to encourage communication and conversation. Reading for pleasure and talking about a shared story can help service families to relieve stress and cope with the pressures often caused by operational deployments.
Reading Force is a tri-service charity and 50 per cent of its core work is committed to Army families, working closely with the Army Welfare Service.
Rev’d Professor Alison Baverstock, Founder and Director of Reading Force, said:
“We so value the support and encouragement that the Army Benevolent Fund has given us, over our long connection. The money they provide supports our important work helping to promote good communications and closeness within military families, wherever they are living.”
