In this edition of our General Talk podcast, host Harry Bucknall talks to Daz Keelor, former soldier and Cornwall veterans’ welfare campaigner.

Daz served for 16 years in the Royal Army Ordnance Corps (RAOC), including as a military instructor. After working in the Gulf, he returned home to Cornwall and took up the cause of veterans’ welfare in his local community, initially through involvement in local Armed Forces & Veterans breakfast clubs.

Daz looks back on his Army career, his love of rugby and the RAOC’s amalgamation into the Royal Logistic Corps in the early 1990s. He also talks proudly about his role as veterans’ co-ordinator when Falmouth hosted the 2023 National Armed Forces Day celebrations.

The ABF is grateful to Daz for his Army service and for giving us his valuable time for our podcast. We also pay tribute to all those volunteers across our local communities, like Daz, who do so much to support our Armed Forces veterans.

More information about how to get involved in local Armed Forces & Veterans breakfast clubs is available here.
