Military wives raise £20k for Soldiers’ Charity from group skydive

The Light Dragoon Wives

At Skydive St George in Darlington, 32 wives from the Light Dragoon Guards took part in a group skydive that raised more than £20,000 for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity. The wives from the Light Dragoon Guards support one charity endeavour each year and The Soldiers’ Charity skydive was chosen as the charity for 2016. It was also the first group skydive organised by the Soldiers’ Charity North East office.

Briefing liaison officer for The Soldiers’ Charity, Jim Duffy, who organised the event commented: “Captain Cuthbertson, the Welfare Officer at the LDG was really supportive of this idea, and not surprisingly his wife was one of the first to sign up. The Charity is extremely grateful to all of those brave wives who took part in the skydive. They raised a fantastic amount for the Charity which will make a real difference to those in the Army family who need our support.”
