ABF The Soldiers’ Charity welcomes publication of Lord Etherton’s report, which sets out the completely unacceptable and highly regrettable treatment suffered prior to 2000 by hundreds of LGBT+ veterans. We also welcome the formal apology by the Government and the acceptance in principle of the report’s 49 recommendations and we look forward to seeing the detail of how they will be implemented.
As the Army’s national charity, we are here to support all soldiers, veterans and their immediate families in times of need. This includes all those still suffering the long-lasting and severe impact of the wrongs highlighted by this report, and who may need our help. We are here for all soldiers, for life.
