ABF supporters and representatives were honoured to attend a special reception at Buckingham Palace on 21 April to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Queen Elizabeth II.
Held in the Marble Hall, the reception welcomed representatives from a number of Queen Elizabeth II’s former patronages, including charities and organisations reflecting the breadth of her interests and public service.

ABF ambassadors Lee Harris-Hamer and Emma King were joined by trustee Amanda Metcalfe and Case Studies Liaison Helen McMahon, all of whom were honoured to attend the commemorative event on behalf of the charity. The reception brought together guests from across the Armed Forces community to reflect on the life, legacy and service of Queen Elizabeth II.
The ABF representatives were delighted to meet Her Majesty The Queen, who is Patron of the ABF, and to represent the soldiers, veterans and families the charity supports.
This reception provided an opportunity to reflect on the life, service and enduring legacy of Queen Elizabeth II; and we extend our sincere thanks to Buckingham Palace for inviting the ABF to be part of such a meaningful and memorable occasion.
