Join our Norfolk Committee at the Norfolk Club for a Speaker’s Lunch on The Commonwealth War Graves Commission – Revolution and Challenges in Commemoration with Speaker: Nik Chapman CBE
Nik Chapman served for 36 years in the Army as an Infantry soldier. He completed his service as a Colonel, Late MERCIAN. His career took him to every continent except one, where he held a wide range of appointments. Nik also served on operations in Afghanistan, and in 2013 he received the honour of being appointed a Commander of the Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) for his contribution.
Date and Time: Wednesday 27th May 2026. Gathering from 12pm with lunch at 12.30pm
Location: The Norfolk Club, 17 Upper King St, Norwich, Norfolk, NR3 1RB
Dress Code: Jacket and tie.
Nik will introduce the creation of the Imperial (now Commonwealth) War Graves Commission in 1917 and the key figures behind it. He’ll also shares stories of the Fallen, especially those with Norfolk link, to remind us that every headstone and name represents a life and a sacrifice that must be remembered.

- Tickets: £32.50 – Including lunch, a glass of wine and coffee.
- A Charity Donation Box will be available on the day (cash). The suggested donation is £5.

Members’ Advanced Payment Scheme accounts will be charged 3 days prior to an event. To finalise your booking, if you do not have an account set up, payment will need to be taken beforehand.
