In February, ABF The Soldiers’ Charity were privileged to attend the fourth TfL Industry Day for Ex-Military and Reservists at HMS President in London.

Individuals who are leaving, or have left, the Armed Forces had the opportunity to explore their skills with employers and speak to those who have made the transition to civilian work. Following previous Industry Days many attendees gained full time employment with TfL and within their supply chain.

After a keynote address from Mike Brown MVO, London Transport Commissioner, the Charity spoke to a number of young men and women, some already working with TfL and some hoping to in the future.  Brigadier (Ret’d) Robin Bacon, Chief of Staff ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, said, “what I took away was the an over-riding impression of a really positive and inclusive working culture that welcomes and values Ex-Military, with a wide range of interesting opportunities.”

TfL are a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant and committed to supporting the Armed Forces community. A special thanks goes to Alan Bristow, Brendan Sleight BEM CEng FCIHT MIET, James Montgomerie and the wider TfL team for organising the day.
