On Friday 24 January, a team of four Army officers from the Adjutant General’s Corps Educational and Training Services (ETS) completed the World’s Toughest Row, raising over £5,000 for the Army Benevolent Fund so far, with donations still incoming.
The Oarsome Army Educators – made up of Dec Lynn, Jess Hunter, Gian-Luc Angiolini, and Graham Doyle – have spent a staggering 44 days rowing from La Gomera, Canary Islands to Nelson’s Dockyard, Antigua & Barbuda, covering 3,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean on their rowing boat named after their inspiring colleague, Lieutenant Colonel Jane Hunter.
Competing with other teams across the globe, the team put their physical and mental resilience to the test, battling 30ft waves, enduring cramped quarters, sleep deprivation and sheer exhaustion. However, their voyage also included some truly unforgettable moments, such as celebrating Christmas and New Year in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
There is still time to support the team with a donation here.
