We are delighted to celebrate the incredible fundraising milestone achieved by the Rugby Relics, a dedicated team of veterans, family, and friends who have now raised over £100,000 in support of the Army Benevolent Fund, the Army’s national charity.

Formed in 2017, the nine-strong team share a passion for rugby and a commitment to giving back to the Army community. Since their first challenge, they have taken on a series of gruelling endurance events — most recently completing this year’s Frontline Walk: Normandy Beaches, a 62-mile trek across the historic D-Day landing sites.

Over three days, the Rugby Relics retraced the footsteps of World War Two soldiers along with other participants, walking across Sword, Juno, Gold, Omaha, and Utah beaches, before finishing at the British Normandy Memorial to pay tribute to the fallen heroes of the D-Day landings.

Chris Price, team founder and leader, said:

“Thanks to our sponsors, supporters and followers who have donated, supported and cheered us on along the way. Your generosity will help make a real difference to soldiers, veterans, and their families.”

The group’s incredible fundraising journey began with a simple idea: to combine their love of sport, friendship, and service into a force for good. What started as a small initiative has grown into a powerful movement, with every mile walked and every event completed helping to transform lives across the Army family.

Tim Hyams, Chief Executive of the Army Benevolent Fund, said:

“We are hugely grateful to Chris and the Rugby Relics team for their remarkable commitment and for raising over £100,000 for our charity. Their determination, teamwork, and passion reflect the very best of the Army spirit, and the funds raised will make a lasting difference to the soldiers, veterans, and families we support.”

From their first steps in 2017 to this year’s finish line in Normandy, the Rugby Relics have shown extraordinary dedication to their cause. We would like to say a huge thank you to each and every one of them for their outstanding fundraising efforts.
