General Sir James Everard discusses his career in the British Army and his new appointment as President of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, having taken over the role from General Sir Mike Jackson.
General James has carried out operational service in Cyprus, Bosnia Herzegovina, Kosovo, Iraq and Belgium; with his final appointment as Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe in Allied Command Operations NATO.
General James candidly discusses his NATO appointment. Asked if he thinks NATO is still a credible force, he states that it is and adds, “With Donald Trump, of course, you always had to have a look at what the Americans were doing as opposed to what he was tweeting.”
