The Army Benevolent Fund
In November 2023, ABF The Soldier’s Charity, ratified by the Trustee Board, changed its name to The Army Benevolent Fund, Charity No. 1146420
There may be occasion where The Army Benevolent Fund is referred to as The Soldier’s Charity in a Will. On 19th November 2009, by resolution of the Board of Trustees, the Army Benevolent Fund changed its name to ABF The Soldiers’ Charity under its continuing Registered Charity Number 211645. The Charity was then incorporated on 2 March 2012 and was registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales on 14 March 2012 as Charity No. 1146420. All the assets and liabilities of the unincorporated charity were transferred to the newly incorporated charity, except for cash of £39,814 which was transferred once the winding up of the Defined Benefits Pension Scheme was completed. The Charity is also registered with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (Scottish Charity No SCO39189)
