The Army Benevolent Fund is proud to continue its longstanding support for the Stoll Foundation by awarding a new grant of £48,094 to help vulnerable veterans live with independence and dignity.

The Stoll Foundation provides housing to hundreds of vulnerable and disabled veterans and their dependents across five locations: Fulham, Hounslow, East Acton, Chiswick and Aldershot. It works in partnership with a range of agencies, including NHS Mental Health services, to offer specialised support.

Many veterans living at The Stoll Foundation’s housing sites in West London and Aldershot face significant challenges, including social isolation, mental health struggles, and financial hardship. The impact of past trauma, the lingering effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, and the ongoing cost-of-living crisis have all contributed to increased demand for Stoll’s services.

Our latest grant will fund critical support services aimed at addressing these challenges. The Foundation’s Community Support Officers and Veteran Support Workers will assist veterans with overcoming social anxiety, navigating financial difficulties, and accessing essential welfare benefits. Additionally, outreach support will be provided to those transitioning from Stoll’s housing into independent living, helping them integrate into their new communities with confidence.

One of the residents, Army widow Elaine, says: “Moving here was the right move for me – a fresh start. The staff are excellent and they look after us well. It’s made a huge difference, knowing I can live my life in this caring, supportive environment with access to the right type of help when needed.”
