At the Bruntsfield Links Charity Golf Day, you have an event which stands out from the crowd! From the moment you arrive, you will know you’re on for a great day playing your best golf at one of the world’s oldest clubs. Founded in 1761, the Bruntsfield Links Golfing Society is the fourth oldest golf club in the world and one of Scotland’s most prestigious clubs located only 3 miles from Edinburgh city centre. The mature parkland style course was originally designed by Willie Park Jnr with later modifications by world renowned architects Dr Alister MacKenzie, James Braid and Fred Hawtree.
In 2018 the course underwent a major redevelopment by Tom MacKenzie of MacKenize Ebert, with a complete review of all the bunkering, the remodelling of 7 holes and the introduction of three new holes. As a testament to the quality of the venue, between 2011-2015 the R&A selected Bruntsfield as a Qualifying Venue for the Open Championship.
We will provide filled rolls, soup, tea and coffee in the members-only clubhouse to prepare you for your day. Then, when the artillery gun goes bang, you’re off on a great round of golf on this stunning parkland-style course. After a group photo, we’ve been granted access to the exclusive members-only dining room for a two course dinner and prize-giving.

Format
- 4Ball Texas Scramble.
- Playing handicap allowance: Full, max 24 for gents & 32 for ladies (If you’re above 24 or 32 respectively, unfortunately you’ll be cut for this competition)
- Team handicap allowance – 10% of full team handicap
- Minimum of 3 drives from each player (1 must include a par 3)
- Tees – yellows for gents & red for ladies
- Buggies available if required
Timings
- 11:30 – Golf club and practice facilities available
- 11:30 – Registration opens – tea, coffee, filled roll and soup
- 12:15 – Briefing
- 12:30 – Group photo
- 12:40 – Golfers depart for start
- 13:00 – Shotgun start, followed by 18 holes
- 17:00 – 19th hole, bar open
- 18:30 – Two course dinner
- 19:30 – Prize draw followed by silent and live auction
Dress Code
Normal golf attire on the course with smart casual for lunch. No jeans, t-shirts or rugby tops.
Terms and Conditions
Any cancellations up to four weeks prior to the event will be offered a full refund and 50% up to two weeks prior.
