A former member of the Devon and Dorset Regiment, Colin Stinson, is fulfilling a promise he made to his late father by taking on an epic ‘Ride Out’ which has seen him cover the coast of Britain. His 5,000-mile journey will be finishing in Bideford Quay side on Saturday 30th July.

Colin has raised more than £2,000 for The Soldiers’ Charity, the National Charity of the British Army, along the way.

Colin told us: “It’s been a great journey, but it’s always nice to be home even after all the lovely coastline I’ve been lucky enough to have seen. I’ve met some great people along the way and have received fantastic support. I’ll be stopping at the Lock Gate cafe in Bude around 12:00 hrs on Saturday, all are welcome to join me for the last leg into Bideford.”

Colonel (Ret’d) Robert Jordan, Regional Director for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity said: “We’ve been following Colin’s journey with great interest; it’s definitely one of the more unique ways to raise money for the Charity. We are very grateful for his efforts on this ‘Ride Out’, the money he has raised will make a real difference to those soldiers’ and veterans that need our help.”
