Welsh jeweller Clogau has raised a remarkable £74,180 for the Army Benevolent Fund, from sales of limited-edition Remembrance Day poppy pin badges.

Last year, an impressive £55,000 was raised through the same initiative. To see this year’s total climb even higher is a testament to the generosity of Clogau’s customers and the dedication of the company in supporting the Army family.

Clogau, which is renowned for its timeless pieces crafted with rare Welsh gold, has long been a valued supporter of the ABF, previously supporting us through sponsorship and donations of items for fundraising events such as golf days. Their continued partnership ensures that soldiers, former soldiers, and their families, including those in Wales, can access vital assistance when they need it most.

The £74,180 cheque was presented at the Army Carol Service on Tuesday 9th December by Ben Roberts, Managing Director of Clogau Gold, to Major General Tim Hyams CB OBE, Chief Executive of the ABF.

Tim Hyams said: “We are immensely grateful to Clogau for their continued support of the Army Benevolent Fund. This generous donation will make a real difference to soldiers, former soldiers, and their families, ensuring they can access the help they need and deserve. It is heartening to see such commitment from a company rooted in Wales, standing alongside the Army family both locally and nationally.”

Ben Roberts said: “It gives me great pleasure to say that this year we’ve raised the incredible sum of £74,180 on behalf of the Army Benevolent Fund thanks to the generosity of Clogau’s customers. Last year we sold roughly 5,500 of the poppy pin badges, so this year we made a lot more available and sold an incredible 7,418 in the short space of just 3 days thanks to working closely with the ABF. As a result, we were proud to donate a grand total of £74,180 to support the great work the ABF carries out for active and retired members of the Army.”
