We are delighted to award a £13,500 grant to BuildForce towards its work helping former soldiers transition into new civilian careers in construction.

BuildForce equips veterans with skills for long term careers in construction, engineering and the built environment, and provides support around mental health and wellbeing as they manage the transition back into civilian life.

Our grant will fund BuildForce’s Project Give Back, which includes a variety of sporting events and day treks and provides coaching on fitness, diet and mental health. These activities are designed to foster a sense of teamwork and community among the beneficiaries.

Angela Forbes, Chief Executive, BuildForce, said:

“We are very excited to receive the ABF’s support. We are creating great employment opportunities for our former soldiers, with additional well-rounded sporting and wellbeing activities. This holistic approach is achieving long-term, sustainable results.”

Brigadier (Ret’d) Peter Monteith, Chief Operating Officer, Army Benevolent Fund, added:

“Our charity helps former soldiers find rewarding civilian careers and promotes their mental health and wellbeing. BuildForce combines and integrates these strands to provide fully rounded support to its beneficiaries after they leave the Army. We are pleased to fund its work again this year.”
