The National Autistic SocietyThe National Autistic Society, the leading UK charity for autistic people and their families, has been given a grant from ABF The Soldiers’ Charity to assist in the delivery of Autism Seminars for Army families in three of the UK’s garrison towns – Catterick, Aldershot and Salisbury.

Carol Povey, The National Autistic Society’s Director for the Centre of Autism, comments: “The National Autistic Society is delighted to have been awarded funding from ABF The Soldiers Charity to deliver Autism Seminars to Army service families in Catterick, Aldershot and Salisbury Plain.

“Being a parent to a child on the autism spectrum can be extremely challenging and isolating, impacting enormously on everyday family life. For service families, these challenges can be exacerbated by their unique circumstances. We will deliver seminars on ‘Understanding Autism’, ‘Managing Anger’ and ‘Sensory Needs’ adapted for service families. Families need to know that they are not alone and that there is support available to them.”
