The Army Benevolent Fund (ABF) has benefitted from the Ticket Resale scheme at The Championships since 1996, enabling support that has impacted hundreds of members of the Army family. More recently, the Wimbledon Foundation, the official charity of The All England Lawn Tennis Club and The Championships, increased the level of support to the ABF, awarding a three-year grant of £150,000 focused on housing related needs. The Foundation’s commitment over this period will help to ensure that soldiers, veterans and their families can access the vital housing support they need.

This year, the Wimbledon Foundation also generously offered six tickets to ABF beneficiaries and representatives to attend The Championships on 5 July, including a tour of the Grounds and the opportunity to watch the tennis on Centre Court.

ABF beneficiaries Sam and Matt, their spouses, and ABF trustee Caitlin Hayden and Case Studies Liaison Officer Helen McMahon enjoyed a fantastic day, experiencing world-class tennis and gaining a behind-the-scenes insight into how one of the world’s most iconic sporting events operates.

ABF trustee, Caitlin Hayden, said:

“It was fantastic to meet some of our beneficiaries at this prestigious sporting event and celebrate our longstanding partnership with the Wimbledon Foundation in such a special way. The day highlighted the shared values at the heart of our partnership, particularly our commitment to supporting, including and empowering members of the Army family when they need it most.”
