This June, the Army Benevolent Fund joined the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) and the RAF Benevolent Fund (RAFBF) for a special tri-service fundraising effort at the prestigious Royal Ascot. Serving personnel from the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, British Army, and Royal Air Force supported the appeal, collecting donations from racegoers at the close of each day.
Organised by the ABF’s South East regional team – Regional Director, Will Tower; Engagement Officer, Emily Matthews; and Events Assistant; Ria Gillespie – the collections took place on Wednesday 18th and Friday 20th June.
Royal Ascot is one of the highlights of the British summer season, attracting celebrities, VIPs, and members of the Royal Family. On Friday, we were honoured by the presence of HM the King and Queen Camilla, who paused to thank personally members of the Armed Forces for their service.
A heartfelt thank you to Ascot Racecourse for its continued support; and for providing this valuable opportunity for the RNRMC, the ABF and the RAFBF to raise vital funds for the Armed Forces family.
