The Inter-Unit Fundraising Competition is back!

Think your unit’s the best? Prove it – and raise some serious cash for a cracking cause while you’re at it.

The annual Inter-Unit Fundraising Competition is your chance to show what your team are made of – not just in biceps or banter, but in community spirit and sheer fundraising brilliance.

It’s all in support of the Army Benevolent Fund, the Army’s national charity supporting soldiers, veterans, and their families. So whether you’re scaling mountains, baking cakes, pulling lorries, or just pulling in favours – it all counts.

Bonus points will also be given for units who punch above their weight. We’ll take into account unit size, tempo, and other operational commitments – so don’t think you’re out of the running just because you’re busy, deployed, or working with a skeleton crew. Graft, ingenuity and involving the wider community count for a lot!

 

How Does It Work?

You and your unit can raise money your way:

· Run your own event – big or small, mad or genius.

· Or take part in one of ABF’s challenge events already happening near you.

You choose the time and place – just make sure all entries are in before the deadline: 31 March 2026.

And just like a PTI in the gym – we need pictures or it didn’t happen. Send in your best snaps and videos. We want to see the chaos, camaraderie, and creativity.

Past Fundraising Hits

Previous units have:

· Pulled lorries

· Held coffee mornings

· Cycled the distance of the Normandy and El Alamein battlefields

· Rowed across the actual Atlantic

· Hosted unit fun days, log runs, car washes – and one dangerously competitive bake-off

Basically: if it raises money, raises eyebrows, or raises the profile – it’s fair game.

What’s in It for You?

You will be awarded the Inter Unit Trophy. Your unit’s name will be engraved on it. You’ll get to proudly display it for a full year – wherever you choose to keep it (office, mess, guardroom, purpose-built shrine – your call).

So, whether you’re Infantry, Engineers, Signals, or “those lot from HQ,” now’s your chance to take the crown. Beat the Regiment down the road. Make your Corps proud. Or just outdo last year’s “innovative” idea of a 24-hour dance-a-thon in webbing.
