LADIES WHO LUNCH – GLASGOW

We would like you to join us for our first ever Army Benevolent Fund Ladies Who Lunch in Glasgow.  The event will be held in O Sole Mio, Glasgow’s oldest Italian restaurant.  O Sole Mio has been part of Glasgow’s vibrant restaurant scene for more than 55 years and we are delighted they have agreed to host our Ladies Who Lunch.  Kick start the week with a lunch full of fun, fizz and fabulous ladies whilst being waited on by professional and charming staff.

Welcome drinks on arrival, followed by a beautiful two course Italian lunch.  Following lunch you will hear from guest speaker Frances McMenamin K.C., Tales From The Scottish Bar.

Frances McMenamin K.C. was admitted to the Faculty of Advocates (“called to the Bar”) in 1985 after over 8 years in the Procurator Fiscal Service.  She acted as Junior Counsel for the Crown in the Lockerbie Inquiry and was appointed as an Advocate Depute, prosecuting in the High Court in major and serious criminal cases.  Frances has become recognised as the top female criminal defence counsel.

Until she ceased practising recently, Frances was the senior woman at the Scottish Bar.  Appearing in hundreds of cases and speaking at many legal conferences, she has also been a member of various Faculty Committees and is currently still a member of the Criminal Courts Rules Council. She has been a member of several judge led review groups considering highly controversial proposed major changes to the criminal law of Scotland.
