80th VE Day Commemoration Lunch
COMMEMORATING THE 80TH ANNIVERSARY OF VICTORY IN EUROPE (VE DAY) AND THE END OF WORLD WAR TWO
2025 marks the 80th anniversary of VE Day, VJ Day and the end of the Second World War. On Thursday 8 May 1945, known as Victory in Europe Day (VE Day), is when the German forces surrendered to the Allied powers. Although it was not until Friday 15 August 1945, known as Victory over Japan Day (VJ Day) when Imperial Japan surrendered, in effect bringing World War Two to an end.
To commemorate the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day (VE Day) and the end of the Second World War, we are delighted to be holding a Commemoration Sunday Roast Lunch in the Officers’ Mess, Merville Barracks, Colchester, Essex, CO2 7UT by kind permission of 16 Air Assault Brigade Combat Team and Colchester Garrison on Sunday 18th May 2025.
Date: Sunday 18th May 2025
Time: Arrival is from 12.30pm for welcome drinks with lunch served at 1pm.

- Bar (Pay as you go – cash only)

- Depart
Menu:
A choice of either:
- Chicken (Roast with all trimmings)
- Beef (Roast with all trimmings)
- Vegetarian (Vegetable wellington with all the trimmings)
Followed by dessert and tea/coffee.
Dietary requirements can be catered for, please notify the East Anglia Regional Office in advance (i.e. Gluten Free, vegetarian, allergies).

Booking:
Ticket price: £30 per person.
Tables seat up to max. 10 persons. Places are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Strict security arrangements apply and therefore places can only be allocated in advance.
