We are delighted to award a £10,000 grant to the charity Never Such Innocence, to fund its Life as a Dandelion arts project for Army children.
Never Such Innocence is a UK charity that provides tools for military children to share experiences of having a parent in the Armed Forces. Schools are invited to participate in workshops where military children express themselves to their peers through poetry, art, speech, and song. Our grant will fund the Life as a Dandelion project encompassing the charity’s Armed Forces choir and various arts projects and roadshows, including during the Month of the Military Child in April.
Katie Salari, CEO, Never Such Innocence, said:
“I hope all Army children take part in our Life as a Dandelion project, by entering our poetry and art competition during the Month of the Military Child, or by joining the choir and writing and singing songs about their life as a military child. They are valuable members of the Armed Forces family, and we want to hear from them!”
Brigadier (Ret’d) Peter Monteith, Chief Operating Officer, Army Benevolent Fund, added:
“Our charity promotes educational and outreach activities for children in Army families. We are pleased to support the unique work of Never Such Innocence in helping Army children to present service life in such a lively and interesting way.”
