We are delighted to award a £200,000 grant to Haig Housing, towards its refurbishment programme for veterans’ homes.
ABF The Soldiers’ Charity is committed to ensuring that everyone in the Army family can live in safe and comfortable homes and funds several housing providers that offer accommodation to veterans and their families. Haig Housing has been the leading housing provider for ex-Service personnel for over 100 years and runs over 50 housing estates, including a 340-unit site in Morden, South London.
Over the next financial year, our grant will partly fund Haig Housing’s programme to replace and modernise 80 kitchens and bathrooms in accommodation units, including improved ventilation, plumbing and electrical power supply.
Captain Tim Stockings (Royal Navy), Chief Executive of Haig Housing, said:
“We are enormously grateful to ABF The Soldiers’ Charity for this generous grant towards the refurbishment of kitchens and bathrooms across our UK veterans’ housing communities and look forward to welcoming the charity to view work in progress on our main estate in Morden early in 2024.”
Brigadier (Ret’d) Peter Monteith, Chief Operating Officer, ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, added:
“Housing provision for veterans is a priority area for our charity. We are always ready to do what we can to help partner charities provide and maintain modern, comfortable and energy efficient homes for veterans and their families.”
