We are proud of our staff members who have been volunteering around the country during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As the nation rolls out the new vaccine, Phil Naylor, our North West Regional Director, has been marshalling at his local vaccination centre. Phil is a member of Clitheroe Rotary, an international organisation whose motto is “Service above Self”. The group volunteered to assist the local health centre in the heart of Lancashire as marshals for the vaccination programme.
Starting off with around 40 members who took shifts over three days, Clitheroe Rotary has now recruited other volunteers from the wider community and numbers have now grown to over 140.
Currently, the vaccination programme is focused on community members over 80, with all over 85’s and care home residents now vaccinated. Many of those attending the centre rely on the support of carers and relatives to drive them to and from their appointments.
Phil said: “It has gone very smoothly and the only limiting factor is the supply of the vaccine.”
Huge thanks to Phil for helping to keep his local community safe during the pandemic.
