We are delighted to award an £80,000 grant to Royal Star & Garter in support of its Wellbeing Programme for veterans.
Royal Star & Garter provides a range of quality care and therapies for veterans and their partners living with disability or dementia. With homes in Solihull, Surbiton, and High Wycombe, the charity delivers person-centred care that enriches residents’ lives through specialist therapies, exercise, and engaging social activities.
Our grant will help fund the charity’s Wellbeing Programme, which is designed to enhance the physical, emotional, and cognitive health of veterans. The programme offers daily activities, physiotherapy-led exercises, and meaningful social engagement to promote independence and fulfilment.
A key focus for the coming year is the integration of Royal Star & Garter’s new Dementia Strategy, ensuring residents living with dementia receive the highest standard of evidence-based care.
Caley Eldred, Director of Supporter Engagement at Royal Star & Garter, said:
“The generous grant given by the Army Benevolent Fund will allow our residents, who live with complex care needs but who remain part of the military family, to continue enjoying life. It will enable them to take part in important wellbeing activities from physiotherapy and exercise to arts, music and gardening along with outings which help widen their social interactions. We remain extremely grateful for the continued support provided by the Army Benevolent Fund.”
Brigadier (Ret’d) Peter Monteith, Chief Operating Officer of the Army Benevolent Fund, added:
“Ensuring that our veterans receive the care and support they deserve is at the heart of our mission. Royal Star & Garter has a long and proud history of providing award-winning care, and we are pleased to continue supporting its work.”
